New Blog on the Block – MatriXFiles

by Joanna Pineda Posted on June 1, 2008

Okay, we finally did it! Matrix Group launched a blog, MatriXFiles. After helping dozens of clients develop their blog strategies, I decided it was high time we had one. We established our own blog strategy and brand, created an awesome design, put together the content plan and now we’ve launched! I’d love your comments about the site.

The strategy, which includes the site title, is most critical. It sets the tone and image you want to communicate. So, the Matrix Group blog had to have a movie-themed title. You see, every person at Matrix Group is assigned to a team and every team is named after a movie. Why? We’re all superstars around here. While movie names can be lighthearted, they can also be inspirational.

I am the leader of the company and I personally lead the new biz team, Lethal Weapon. Our Association Management Software (AMS) team is Reservoir Dogs. The Client Services teams are Fifth Element and X-Men – it’s only fitting, as most days, they are the superheroes around here. The Network Admin team is Fight Club because, well, you don’t talk about Fight Club. And the Administration team is First Contact.

Why the MatriXFiles? In case you missed it, “X-Files” is prominent in the name. Friends, family and co-workers know that I’m a huge X-Files and Star Wars fan. Although we’re not chasing government conspiracies or UFOs in this blog, I will comment on the interesting, the mysterious, the bleeding edge, and the crazy ways of the Web.

This is great…and you’re using WordPress 2.5! As you know I love WordPress and have been using it for almost 4 years now. The latest release is the best yet. I recently upgraded the DCFPI.org website to WordPress 2.5. The huge development community and the vast selection of plugins have really turned it into perhaps the best lightweight opensource CMS. Also, check out Windows Live Writer. It is a wonderful desktop application to allow you to post to your WordPress site. If you ever have any WordPress related questions, please don’t hesitate to drop me a line.

I look forward to reading your updates. The blog design is also fantastic. It is very original and will definitely stand out in the crowded blogosphere. I will definitely give it a thumbs up on Stumbleupon, and I’ll be certain to “share” interesting posts to delicious:)

How you think when the economic crisis will end? I wish to make statistics of independent opinions!
