Matrix Group, a digital agency in the Washington DC area specializing in web design, development, AMS, integration, branding, mobile, e-marketing, and consulting services, celebrates the launch of the Stir it Up! microsite for the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and FMI Foundation.
Every January during FMI’s Midwinter Executive Conference, the FMI Foundation hosts a gala and industry awards dinner. For the 2017 conference the Foundation wanted to try a new format for a fun and educational fundraising event.
The result is Stir it Up!, a cooking competition that pits retailer and supplier executives against each other to see who can create the tastiest meals and raise the most money for the Foundation’s food safety, nutrition and health programs.
The event plays on the theme of “stirring it up” in the kitchen and in trying new ways to re-engage attendees and attract sponsorships. FMI enlisted our help to create the Stir it Up! microsite, leveraging its existing investment in the Sitefinity CMS and the MatrixMaxx AMS.
With bright colors, photos, and kitchen-inspired motifs, the microsite reflects the high-energy, interactive event and also:
Uses the MeetingMaxx module in MatrixMaxx for attendee registration.
Provides a sample floor plan of the demo kitchen stations where each competing team will cook.
Allows FMI to reuse the microsite template year over year.
“Stir It Up! is a totally new event for the FMI Foundation and we needed a fun, engaging website to help educate our audience about the opportunity and how they can be involved,” said Sue Borra, chief health and wellness officer for FMI and executive director of the FMI Foundation. “Matrix Group was an excellent partner with us for this project and quickly was able to create an appealing website that is helping us drive sponsorship and ticket sales to this fundraising event.”
