Matrix Group Launches Site Celebrating 100 Years of the Endocrine Society

April 21, 2016

Endocrine CentennialMatrix Group, a digital agency in the Washington DC area specializing in web design, development, AMS, integration, mobile and e-marketing services, launched a new site for the Endocrine Society to mark their centennial.

The Endocrine Society began in 1916 as The Association for the Study of Internal Secretions, and has become, as the Endocrine Society’s website states, “the world's oldest, largest, and most active organization devoted to research on hormones and the clinical practice of endocrinology.” The Society works to increase public and practitioner understanding of endocrinology and advances endocrinologists’ interests with U.S. and global policymakers.

With such a large milestone, the Society wanted a new site to illustrate the Society’s milestones and accomplishments - one that looks not only to history but to the future, as well. The Society has depended on Matrix Group for many years, a relationship that has brought forth an entire family of sites.

Endocrine Society: 100 Years of Hormone Science to Health is a celebration in three parts, featuring:

  • The 2016 Endocrinology Calendar, a feature that focuses on a new topic each month. Each topic is a rich source of research, articles, and many other resources that tap into the deep knowledge base the Society has spent the century amassing.
  • The Century of Endocrinology Timeline, a dynamic interactive feature that allows filtering by single and multiple topics, allowing visitors to explore the Society’s history through thousands of unique paths. Visitors will also be invited to submit milestones to be included in the timeline.
  • The Society Hall of Presidents, which showcases the Society’s leaders, providing details of their contributions to endocrinology.

For The Society, we designed and launched the responsive centennial website in the popular, versatile open-source content management system WordPress. As with all WordPress sites, the system makes it simple for staff to keep their content fresh.

“I have worked with Matrix for many years, and their deep understanding of the Endocrine Society’s goals shows in the centennial site they helped us develop,” says Ted Morgan, Director of Web Services with Endocrine Society. “As always, their creative and technical teams focused our aspirations into a professional, engaging final product. The Society is proud of the site and thankful, once again, for Matrix’s informed guidance and partnership.”
