Matrix Group, a digital agency specializing in web design, development and e-marketing in the Washington, DC area, is excited to announce the launch of a redesigned website for SixDegrees.org, a charity of actor Kevin Bacon that uses the popular game “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” to help local organizations grow their social networks and connect celebrities with their missions.
Matrix Group crafted a warm, welcoming design featuring the favorite Hollywood actor and the charity’s mission. Implemented in WordPress, the popular content management system, the site integrates with Google Maps.
The site helps celebrities find local causes they are interested by:
- Searching for causes by city, state or zip code via map, list or calendar
- Requesting assistance from SixDegrees.org to help them find an event to drop-in, or
- Giving a social media shout-out
Local volunteers and/or grassroots organizers and other organizers can submit their causes, request a celebrity drop-in at a specific event or request a social media shout-out.
The redesigned website launched earlier this year during SXSW in Austin, TX, receiving mentions on CNN and Vanity Fair Magazine. Organizations from across the country have been submitting their events and celebrity requests.
