Matrix Group Launches Redesigned Website for the National Electrical Contractors Association

July 08, 2013

Matrix Group, an award-winning web design and development agency in the Washington, DC area, announces the launch of a redesigned website for National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).

NECA is the voice of the $130 billion electrical construction industry that brings power, light, and communication technology to buildings and communities across the United States.

NECA’s previous website had served its members successfully for more than four years, but the way electrical contractors do business is now changing and NECA wanted to ensure that they were providing members with information and resources they needed to grow.

NECA joined forces with its longtime web partner, Matrix Group, to create a more robust, functional website that met the needs of its membership base.

The newly redesigned website truly captures the association’s brand while being a functional resource for its members. The new site:

  • Features a new “Contractor Resources” section: This section allows contractors to search for information based on specific topics. Each section is full of rich content and features everything from articles to events and publications.
  • Is now mobile-friendly. With more and more people accessing websites through their smartphones and tablets, it was important that the site be responsive.
  • Is a user-centered design, using imagery that captures the diversity of the industry and what NECA members do.
  • Is implemented in the Sitefinity content management system. Matrix Group implemented the site in the CMS’s 5.4 release because of its responsive templates, better tools for managing custom modules, and friendly API.

“Through a series of interviews, webinars and surveys, we developed this new website to create consistency for all NECA content and develop new categories that were relevant to our members. The main goal was to incorporate online features that our members want and actually need, and to create a more usable website by making our content easier to find and use." said Dan Walter, Chief Operating Officer for NECA.
