Matrix Group Launches New Website for the Food Marketing Institute’s “Let’s Put Our Plates Together” Campaign

Matrix Group, a leading web design and development agency in the Washington DC area, is excited to announce the launch of a new website for the Food Marketing Institute to kick off its latest campaign, “Let’s Put Our Plates Together.”

“Let’s Put Our Plates Together” is a new initiative created by FMI’s Health & Wellness Division to inspire food retailers nationwide to take action around family meals .

Supermarkets continue to be the center of their local communities. Shoppers turn to grocery stores as places for inspiration and as a resource for making healthy choices when it comes to their families. As the leading voice for food retailers and wholesalers nationwide, FMI wanted to rally its members behind its latest campaign—encouraging families to have more dinners together. Why family meals? The research is irrefutable and compelling: when families eat together, children are less likely to be obese.

THE NEED

To do this, FMI wanted to create a website for its members to share insightful articles, blog posts, tips on the benefits of family meals and recipes.  It also wanted to promote its Gold Plate Award, an award that recognizes a member who has implemented programs that are bringing families around the table.

THE MATRIX GROUP SOLUTION

FMI teamed up with longtime partner Matrix Group to turn its vision into a reality. Here’s what we did:

  • Designed an inspiring website that evoked warmth and fun. The website design was based on a concept developed by FMI’s Health & Wellness and an outside consultant. Matrix Group re-worked the concept to make it succeed online.
  • Implemented the website in the WordPress content management system (CMS). With content continuing to be updated, Matrix Group put the site into the popular CMS to give staff access to manage the site on an ongoing basis.
  • Produced a launch video to kick off the campaign. Matrix Group produced a video to kick off “Let’s Put Our Plates Together.” The video made its debut at the Mid-Winter Conference this month during a special dinner and is also featured on the homepage of the website.
  • Provided content strategy and support. Matrix Group’s team of content specialists crafted articles to help launch the site. The team continues to ghostwrite blog posts.
