Matrix Group, an award winning web design and development agency in the Washington DC area, developed an iPad app for Goodwill Industries International as part of its Donate Movement. The interactive campaign demonstrates how, by donating everyday items, such as clothes, cookware, televisions, etc. to a local center, those items are transformed into funds that support the organization’s mission.
Inspired by the popular matching game Memory, the app is an interactive match game that teaches kids of all ages about sustainability. Users can flip over the match pictures of donate-able and recyclable items as fast as they can. As matches are made, the items will land in the recycle bin or the Goodwill® basket. The website also features a leaderboard where players can see the top scores.
“We are so proud of our work with Goodwill,” says Matrix Group CEO Joanna Pineda, “We love how the interactive game educates kids on the importance of sustainability.”
“Kids love the Donate Match Game graphics and the challenge of the leaderboard! Matrix helped us teach kids how donating is good for the community and the planet in a way that’s accessible and fun,” says Goodwill Senior Director of Online Media Arlene McCrehan.
The Goodwill Donation Match Game app is free, and is available to download from the iTunes store. Users can also rate their experiences once they have played it.
