Matrix Group, an award-winning web design and development agency in the Washington D.C. area, announces the launch of a redesigned website for CRDF Global.
CRDF Global is an independent nonprofit organization that promotes international scientific and technical collaboration through grants, technical resources and training. CRDF Global is based in Arlington, Virginia with offices in Russia; Ukraine; Kazakhstan and Jordan. It is dedicated to advancing peace and prosperity through science and technology collaboration.
“As an organization with a presence in over 30 nations, it is important to have a website that facilitates dialogue and access for our clients, grantees, partners and stakeholders worldwide,” CRDF Global President and CEO Cathy Campbell said. “Through our new website, we hope to engage new audiences and better showcase our work, capabilities and successes.“
The CRDF Global website is an important means by which the organization communicates its mission and activities, disseminates information about upcoming funding opportunities and conferences, encourages networking and information-sharing between scientists, and educates the general public about its work. CRDF Global turned to Matrix Group to update the website design and incorporate intuitive navigation and a more robust content system.
Matrix Group used its user-focused design to:
- Create a new navigation system that allows visitors to access resources by CRDF Global program, topic or region of the world. Grantees and potential grantees can learn about CRDF Global's focus areas, where CRDF Global works and CRDF Global's services for scientists. The new website also encourages scientists to become involved with the organization in a variety of ways (e.g., become a reviewer, share a story or join the community) and access content in five languages.
- Create a design that more fully embodies CRDF Global's worldwide brand, collaborative style and progressive programs and services.
- Implement the Sitefinity content management system. CRDF Global staff can now easily update the website, use taxonomy to automatically cross-link content, integrate social media, and create rich content.
- Create dynamic topic page so that a scientist looking for resources on specific topics — for example, Science Diplomacy — can learn about CRDF Global's work in this area, including funding opportunities, upcoming events and recent news.
Earlier this year, CRDF Global staff collaborated with Matrix Group on the Global Innovation through Science and Technology website (GIST), a resource portal for entrepreneurs across the Middle East, North Africa and Central and South Asia. The GIST network enables participants to connect with peers, participate in business plan and funding competitions and join training and educational sessions.
