Matrix Group, an award-winning web design and development agency in the Washington D.C. metro area, announces the launch of a redesigned website and new membership database for the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA).
ACSA is a nonprofit membership association founded in 1912 to advance the quality of architectural education.
The architectural field continues to grow across the nation. As architects continue to apply innovative ideas—from green homes to minimalist designs—educating the next generation of them on the ever changing field remains a top priority.
As the largest organization of architecture schools, ACSA believed it was essential to engage professionals in the field through thoughtful discussions around the many architecture disciplines, foster public awareness around architectural education, and support research in teaching and other creative works through its many programs and services.
To continue its mission, ACSA needed to redesign its website, upgrade its membership database and awards management system and tie all of its systems together seamlessly.
THE MATRIX GROUP SOLUTION:
Matrix Group designed a cohesive website for ACSA, integrating its many applications into one finished website. We:
- Developed personas (target audience representations) to guide the development of the entire project.
- Crafted a user-focused navigation system that makes topics of greatest interest to members more prominent.
- Created a beautiful design that is compatible with ACSA's design aesthetic and showcases the organization as elegant and forward-thinking and implemented the Sitefinity CMS to make it easy for staff to manage all aspects of the website.
- Implemented MatrixMaxx, Matrix Group's web-based association management software, to power ACSA's membership, meetings, online store, mailing lists, member directory and member profiles.
Finally, Matrix Group seamlessly integrated MatrixMaxx with Sitefinity and the rest of the website so that members have single sign-on, they can update their profiles, and all transactions are reflected in real-time in MatrixMaxx.
“ACSA approached the website redesign recognizing that our members’ day-to-day dialogue and exchange of ideas is most likely to take place online,” said Judith Kinnard, FAIA, ACSA President. “This is especially true for the ACSA community — a forward thinking group with members around the world.”
