APEX 2011 -- the 23rd Annual Award for Publication Excellence -- is an international competition that recognizes outstanding publications from newsletters and magazines to annual reports, brochures and websites.

According to APEX 2011 judges, "The awards were based on excellence in graphic design, quality of editorial content and the success of the entry in conveying the message and achieving overall communications effectiveness."

AIR is one of the largest behavioral and social science research organizations in the world, whose mission is to use the best science available to bring forth the most effective ideas and approaches to enhancing everyday life, with a special emphasis on the disadvantaged.

AIR partnered with Matrix Group to make the AIR website a powerful tool and resource for policymakers, educators, and health advocates around the world by showcasing the organization's expertise in specific program areas.

"The AIR website is one of our primary vehicles for disseminating our work to the policymakers, practitioners, and people who need it most," AIR Executive Director Patrick Riccards said.  "In communicating the relevance of complex research, it is important to convey that message in a way that all understand and all can move into practice.  We are honored that APEX has recognized the AIR team for succeeding in such a communications challenge.  And we are appreciative that Matrix has helped provide the digital platform to facilitate it."
