Matrix Group's 2010 Holiday E-Card Receives a "Platinum Award" from the Hermes Creative Awards

May 27, 2011

Matrix Group, an award-winning web design and development agency in the Washington D.C. metro area, received three Hermes Creative Awards. Awarded by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals, the Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition that recognizes creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs and emerging technologies.

Matrix Group received a platinum award in the "Marketing Collateral/Branding/Holiday Card" category, the competition's highest honor, for its 2010 holiday e-card. Designed in flash, the holiday e-card was inspired by the agency's charitable campaign this past December. Through a fun, creative Facebook campaign, Matrix Group raised more than $2,500 for area charities by eliminating a paper mailing and donating $5 for every new Facebook fan. The story of this effort was told through a warm, animated e-card, which was distributed to Matrix staff, clients, friends and partners. The charitable partners were featured prominently in the e-card as an additional way to generate support for these worthy organizations.

"We are extremely honored to receive this award," said Joanna Pineda, CEO of Matrix Group, "Charitable giving is an important part of our corporate culture so the Facebook campaign was a terrific way to involve our network in our philanthropic initiatives and social media efforts."

Matrix Group also received honorable mentions for:

  • The International Association of Chiefs of Police Social Media Website in the “Social Media Site” category
  • The Matrix Group 10th Anniversary Microsite in the “Microsite” category
