Matrix Group Takes Home Three Interactive Media Awards

August 27, 2010

Matrix Group International, a leading interactive agency in the Washington D.C. metro area, recently took home three Interactive Media Awards.  Awarded by the Interactive Media Council, Inc, the Interactive Media Awards recognize the highest standards of excellence in website design and development.

Matrix Group received three “Outstanding Achievement Awards” for redesign websites of the some of the nation’s most prominent organizations:

  • Goodwill Industries International, Inc. in the “Advocacy” Category
  • Road Runners Club of America in the “Health and Nutrition” Category
  • The National Park Foundation in the “Nonprofit” Category

For its redesign of Goodwill’s public website, Matrix Group was honored for its “user-focused” design, including an enhanced navigation system and interactive features to meet the site’s visitors' needs. More importantly, the newly designed website reinforces Goodwill’s mission more effectively, showcasing it as an overall organization and its diverse programs, including job training and employment opportunities.

For its work on the Road Runners Club of America, the oldest and largest organization dedicated to distance running, Matrix Group collaborated with the prominent organization on a more robust and professional website to communicate its brand and mission more effectively, improve visitors’ experiences by simplifying site navigation, and connect with its audiences of coaches, runners, as well as club and event directors. In addition to the redesign, Matrix Group upgraded the organization’s membership database with the implementation of MatrixMaxx, Matrix Group’s Association Management Software (AMS), to better streamline the organization’s daily membership processes.

And, finally, for its work on The National Park Foundation, the charitable arm of the National Parks Service, Matrix Group partnered with the Foundation on a redesign of its website to promote award-winning documentarian Ken Burns’ The National Parks: America’s Best Idea, and to garner support for the Foundation's programs across the country. Matrix Group created a design that captures the beauty and diversity of our parks and reminds Americans that they "own" the parks, using big, bold, majestic images of the parks. The site also features an offer to receive your "Owner's Manual," a social media campaign that encourages visitors to comment on their favorite parks and an emphasis on NPF's programs for kids, as well as makes a strong case for supporting our national parks by visiting, volunteering and donating.

Since 2004, Matrix Group has won ten Interactive Media Awards.

The Interactive Media Council, Inc., a nonprofit organization of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals, the competition is designed to elevate the standards of excellence on the Internet and offer winners a boost in marketing and exposure.
