The judging was based on various criteria, including design, usability, innovation in technical features, standards compliance and content. In order to win this award level, the Direct Selling 411 Web site was judged on strict guidelines in each area — an achievement only a small number of entrants in the IMA competition earn each quarter.
The goal of Direct Selling 411 is to provide its audience of 15 million direct sellers, consumers and the general public with open and honest facts and information about direct selling, provide a forum for open discussion, dispel myths and misconceptions on the industry, as well as provide tips on spotting fraudulent schemes. To help the Direct Selling Association (DSA) provide Direct Selling 411 visitors with thoughtful, factual and engaging content the Web site includes a combination of text, video and features a blog by the VP of Communications at DSA (Amy Robinson) where she talks about industry trends, answers comments and questions, and shares stories about companies and consultants.
