About the Presenters
Joanna Pineda is CEO and Chief Troublemaker of Matrix Group International, Inc., a digital agency that works primarily with associations and nonprofits to help them increase membership and generate revenue. Joanna’s staff and clients call her Chief Troublemaker because she likes to ask a lot of questions, think outside the box, question reality, and ask the hard questions so stuff gets done. She is passionate about the user experience, aka the member or customer journeys.
Dave Hoernig is VP of Software Engineering at Matrix Group. He has ultimate responsibility for all custom development at Matrix Group, including ensuring that the system architecture, choice of technology, technical specifications, and testing use cases are completed properly and effectively. He also ensures that each project adheres to Matrix Group development best practices. He has extensive experience building websites, implementing search solutions, building e-commerce solutions, and integrating diverse systems.
Alex Pineda brings over 20 years of award-winning experience in interactive media to his role as Creative Director. With a background in usability engineering, advertising, and media arts, he is responsible for Matrix Group’s user-centered design practice. His primary focus is to understand our client’s organizational goals and the needs of those they serve, and then translate them into immersive and compelling designs. Alex is also a Professor of Interactive Design in the Graduate Program of the San Francisco Art Academy.
